Senior Credit Dispute Specialist

Job Description

The Senior Credit Dispute Specialist responds to credit disputes which are received through the e-Oscar portal or in written letters from the consumer. May be asked to assist with other Compliance duties and special projects as well as other assigned duties.

Job Responsibilities

  • Investigate and respond to incoming written and indirect (e-Oscar) disputes according to department procedures and by department deadlines
  • Identify credit bureau reporting issues and report issues to management
  • Validate of update Bank reporting of consumer debt, in e-Oscar and FDR
  • Retain evidence of the credit dispute investigation, as required by FCRA
  • Work effectively as part of a team atmosphere to perform duties and achieve operational goals
  • Meets productivity standards
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Minimum Education and Experience  

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required
  • Excellent understanding of Metro 2 reporting guidelines
  • Experience processing credit bureau disputes through e-Oscar

Technical Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to read and understand credit reports, account payment history and delinquency grading
  • Possess strong knowledge of the credit reporting responsibilities as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act
  • Strong organizational skills to include prioritization and attention to detail

Compliance
